Tilt Or Tap? The Great Mobile Control Debate
Every mobile racer eventually makes you choose: steer by tilting the phone or by tapping the screen. We've argued about it for ages, so with Neon Drift Circuit we just played the same tracks both ways.
Tilt feels natural at first and gives you fine control, but it falls apart in cramped spaces like a bus seat, and it's useless if you're lying down. Your arm gets tired too, which nobody admits.
Tap controls look clumsy on paper but they're reliable. Same input every time, no drift, no recalibrating when the sun moves. For a precise drift racer I actually ended up preferring them.
The real takeaway is that good games offer both and let you switch mid-session. Any racer that locks you into one scheme is making a decision it shouldn't.
