Tidewarden Tactics
★★★★☆ 4.4
Tidewarden Tactics drops you on a hex grid and asks you to hold the shore. You place units, manage limited movement, and read enemy patterns before they overwhelm you. It's slow in the best sense, a game that rewards sitting and thinking rather than tapping fast.
The phone layout is clever. Everything scales, the undo button saves you from fat-fingered moves, and you can zoom with a pinch when the board gets busy. Difficulty ramps up fairly, and a few optional objectives give veterans something to chase.
The tutorial is a bit stiff and the early maps feel samey, but push past the first chapter and it opens into something genuinely sharp.
What we liked
- Clean hex-grid controls built for touch
- An undo button that saves your sanity
- Optional objectives for players who want more bite
